It warns that jana-āsakti (worldly attachment) and disrespect toward rightful dharma lead to spiritual decline; Linga worship in Shaiva Siddhanta is meant to turn the pashu away from such bondage (pāśa) toward Pati, Shiva.
Indirectly, it contrasts attachment to the transient with reverence for the sage who upholds higher truth—pointing to Shiva-tattva as the supreme Pati who is worthy of ultimate reverence beyond worldly relations.
The takeaway aligns with Pāśupata discipline: reduce jana-āsakti through vairāgya and devotion, supporting steady puja and contemplation of the Linga as the means to loosen pāśa.
