सवने स्यन्दने ऽर्थे च धातुर् एष विभाष्यते सवनात्तेजसो ऽपां च तेनासौ सविता मतः

Transliteration

savane syandane 'rthe ca dhātur eṣa vibhāṣyate savanāttejaso 'pāṃ ca tenāsau savitā mataḥ

Translation

Akar kata ini dijelaskan dalam makna ‘mendorong/melahirkan’ dan ‘membuat mengalir’. Karena ia memunculkan tejas dan mengalirkan air, maka ia dipahami sebagai Savitṛ.
