It introduces a revered spiritual teaching presented as highly efficacious—capable of fulfilling worthy human aims when heard and assimilated with faith and discipline.
It marks the start of a chapter with Hari as the speaker, announcing a structured instruction to be heard over “seven nights,” a common Purāṇic way of organizing extended teachings.
Approach sacred study as a disciplined practice (set days/sessions), begin with reverence (namas), and use contemplation (dhīmahi) to internalize teachings rather than treating them as mere information.
