इत्येष क्षयजः कास क्षीणानां देहनाशनः / याप्यौ वा बलिनां तद्वत्क्षतजो ऽपि नवौ तु तौ

Demikianlah batuk yang timbul dari kṣaya (penyusutan/consumption) menghancurkan tubuh orang yang kurus; namun pada yang kuat ia masih dapat dikendalikan. Begitu pula batuk karena luka—keduanya harus dipahami sebagai penyakit yang ditangani dengan kehati-hatian.
