गार्हस्थ्याश्रमकामस्तु गार्हस्थ्याश्रममावसेत् वानप्रस्थाश्रमं वापि चतुर्थं स्वेच्छयात्मनः
gārhasthyāśramakāmastu gārhasthyāśramamāvaset vānaprasthāśramaṃ vāpi caturthaṃ svecchayātmanaḥ
यदि उसे गृहस्थ-आश्रम की इच्छा हो तो वह गृहस्थ-आश्रम में प्रवेश करे; अथवा वह वानप्रस्थ-आश्रम में, और अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार चौथे (संन्यास) में भी प्रवेश कर सकता है।
