यूनश्च परदारादि दारिद्र्यं च कुटुम्बिनः । पुत्रदुःखस्य नास्त्यन्तो धनी चेन्म्रियते तदा ॥२६॥

IAST Transliteration

yūnaś ca paradārādi dāridryaṃ ca kuṭumbinaḥ | putraduḥkhasya nāsty anto dhanī cen mriyate tadā ||26||

Translation

युवा में पर-स्त्री आदि का आकर्षण होता है; गृहस्थ को दरिद्रता भी घेरती है। पुत्रों से उत्पन्न दुःख का अंत नहीं; और यदि कोई धनी भी हो, तो भी अंततः मृत्यु उसे आ लेती है॥२६॥

Academic Translation

For the young man there is (the temptation of) another’s wife and the like; for the householder there is poverty as well. There is no end to the sorrow caused by children; and if one is wealthy, then he dies (even so).
