अशाकभोजी दीर्घायुश्चातुर्मास्येऽभिजायते । रसत्यागान्महाप्राणी मधुत्यागात्सुलोचनः
aśākabhojī dīrghāyuścāturmāsye'bhijāyate | rasatyāgānmahāprāṇī madhutyāgātsulocanaḥ
Skanda (deduced from Nāgara-khaṇḍa Tīrthamāhātmya instructional tone)
Scene: Monsoon setting: a devotee under a temple eave, rain beyond, eating a simple sāttvika meal without vegetables/honey; a priest recites while the devotee offers water and flowers; eyes depicted bright and calm.
Self-restraint in diet during Cāturmāsya purifies the senses and yields auspicious bodily and spiritual fruits.
This verse functions as Cāturmāsya-vrata phalaśruti within the Tīrthamāhātmya setting; no single tīrtha is named in this line.
Dietary niyamas for Cāturmāsya: abstaining from vegetables, from indulgence in tastes, and from honey.
