ततो ददर्शोछ्रचितमेघरूपंमनोहरं काञ्चनचारुरूपम्।रक्षोऽधिपस्यात्मबलानुरूपंगृहोत्तमं ह्यप्रतिरूपरूपम्।।5.7.5।।
tato dadarśocchritamegharūpaṁ manoharaṁ kāñcanacārurūpam | rakṣo’dhipasyātmabalānurūpaṁ gṛhottamaṁ hy apratirūparūpam ||5.7.5||
तब उसने मेघ-सम ऊँचा उठता, मनोहर, स्वर्ण-रम्य रूप वाला—राक्षसाधिपति के आत्मबल के अनुरूप—अप्रतिम रूप से युक्त वह श्रेष्ठ भवन देखा।
Hanuman beheld the magnificent and soul-captivating palace possessing the splendour of molten gold. Of matchless beauty, it looked like a towering cloud worthy of the might of Ravana, the lord of ogresses.
The verse highlights a Ramayana contrast: adharma can display grandeur. Dharma is not measured by external magnificence but by rightful conduct and truth.
Hanumān reaches the central, most splendid palace associated with the rākṣasa-king and assesses it as part of his search within the city.
Courage with restraint: Hanumān approaches the seat of enemy power without arrogance or fear, maintaining secrecy and purpose.
