The Token of Recognition (Chūḍāmaṇi) and the Crow Episode Recalled
पुत्त्रः किल स शक्रस्य वायसः पततां वरः।।5.38.28।।धरान्तरगतश्शीघ्रं पवनस्य गतौ समः।
putraḥ kila sa śakrasya vāyasaḥ patatāṃ varaḥ || 5.38.28 ||
dharāntaragataḥ śīghraṃ pavanasya gatau samaḥ |
वह कौआ, कहते हैं, शक्र (इन्द्र) का पुत्र था—पक्षियों में श्रेष्ठ; वह शीघ्र ही दूर-दूर तक जा सकता था और वेग में पवन के समान था।
'Then you, the strong-armed and best among the wise, your eyeballs rolling in fury, made up your mind about the cruel crow.
