Sampāti’s Account and the Sage Niśākara
अस्य विन्ध्यस्य शिखरे पतितोऽस्मि पुरावने।सूर्यतपपरीताङ्गो निर्दग्धस्सूर्यरश्मिभिः।।4.60.4।।
asya vindhyasya śikhare patito 'smi purā vane | sūryatāpa-parītāṅgo nirdagdhaḥ sūryaraśmibhiḥ || 4.60.4 ||
बहुत पहले मैं इस विन्ध्य पर्वत की चोटी के वन में गिर पड़ा था। सूर्य की तीव्र तपिश से मेरा अंग-प्रत्यंग झुलस गया और उसकी किरणों से मैं दग्ध हो गया।।
Scorched by the rays of the Sun, I was burnt totally and fell on the peak of this mount Vindhya years ago.
