Tara’s Counsel to Lakshmana
Restraint, Time, and Mobilization

'I feel Sugriva should (is prepared to) renounce the monkey-kingdom, wealth, grains and other treasures and even Ruma and me for the pleasure of Rama.
True loyalty to a righteous ally places duty above personal pleasure and possessions; dharma may require readiness to renounce even what is dearest.
To calm Lakṣmaṇa, Tārā asserts Sugrīva’s fundamental commitment to Rāma, claiming he would sacrifice everything for Rāma’s cause.
Bhakti-like loyalty and gratitude (kṛtajñatā) toward benefactors—presented as Sugrīva’s underlying disposition despite his delay.
