स्मितहास्यान्तरयुतं गुणवन्मधुरं हितम्।वैदेह्या वाक्यमतुलं कदा श्रोष्यामि लक्ष्मण।।।।

smitahāsyāntarayutaṃ guṇavan madhuraṃ hitam | vaidehyā vākyam atulaṃ kadā śroṣyāmi lakṣmaṇa ||

Translation

हे लक्ष्मण, वैदेही के अतुल वचन—जो मधुर, हितकर, गुणसम्पन्न और उसके मृदु स्मित-हास से गुंथे होते हैं—मैं फिर कब सुनूँगा?
