The Greatness of Bathing in the Ganges
Gaṅgā-snānā-mahātmya
मुच्यते सर्वपापेभ्यो विष्णुलोकं च गच्छति । कीर्तनान्मुच्यते पापाद्दर्शनान्मंगलं लभेत् ॥ २२ ॥
mucyate sarvapāpebhyo viṣṇulokaṃ ca gacchati | kīrtanānmucyate pāpāddarśanānmaṃgalaṃ labhet || 22 ||
मनुष्य समस्त पापों से मुक्त होकर विष्णुलोक को प्राप्त होता है। भगवान् के कीर्तन से पाप कटते हैं और उनके दर्शन से मंगल की प्राप्ति होती है।
Sage Nārada (in dialogue framework with Sanatkumāra tradition; verse states the फलश्रुति-style result)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches a direct bhakti-based फल (result): kīrtana purifies sins, darśana grants auspiciousness, and sustained devotion culminates in attaining Viṣṇuloka.
Bhakti is shown as accessible practice through kīrtana (praise/chanting) and darśana (sacred encounter with the deity or holy manifestation), emphasizing grace-led purification and liberation.
Not a Vedāṅga-technical passage; it highlights practical sādhana—kīrtana and darśana—as devotional disciplines used within Purāṇic ritual culture (stotra, nāma-saṅkīrtana, temple/tīrtha darśana).
