स्मृतिर्वेदः क्रियावेदः पुराणेषु प्रतिष्ठितः । पुराणपुंरुषाज्जातं यथेदं जगदद्भुतम् ॥ १६ ॥
smṛtirvedaḥ kriyāvedaḥ purāṇeṣu pratiṣṭhitaḥ | purāṇapuṃruṣājjātaṃ yathedaṃ jagadadbhutam || 16 ||
स्मृति-रूप वेद और क्रिया-रूप वेद पुराणों में दृढ़ प्रतिष्ठित हैं। और जैसे यह अद्भुत जगत् उत्पन्न हुआ है, वैसे ही वह पुराण-पुरुष से ही उत्पन्न है।
