युद्ध समभवत् तत्र सुसंरब्धं॑ महात्मनो: । द्रोणपाण्डवयोर्घोरें वृत्रवासवयोरिव
yuddhaṃ samabhavat tatra susaṃrabdhaṃ mahātmanoḥ | droṇapāṇḍavayor ghoraṃ vṛtrāvāsavayor iva ||
वैशम्पायन बोले—वहाँ द्रोण और पाण्डव के बीच महात्माओं का अत्यन्त उग्र युद्ध छिड़ गया; वह वृत्र और वासव (इन्द्र) के संग्राम के समान भयंकर था।
