अस्यतो नित्यमत्यर्थ सर्वमेवातिगस्तथा । अश्रुतः श्रूयते भूतैर्धनुर्धघोष: किरीटिन:,जब अर्जुन बाण चलाते थे, उस समय समस्त प्राणी सदा उनके गाण्डीव धनुषकी बड़े जोरसे होनेवाली अद्भुत टंकार सुनते थे। वैसी टंकार-ध्वनि पहले किसीने कभी नहीं सुनी थी। उसके सामने दूसरे सभी प्रकारके शब्द दब जाते थे

Transliteration

asyato nityamatyarthaṁ sarvam evātigastathā | aśrutaḥ śrūyate bhūtair dhanur-dhaghoṣaḥ kirīṭinaḥ ||

Translation

वैशम्पायन बोले—जब अर्जुन निरन्तर अत्यन्त वेग से बाण चलाते थे, तब किरीटधारी के धनुष की अद्भुत और प्रचण्ड टंकार समस्त प्राणियों को सुनाई देती थी। वैसी ध्वनि पहले कभी किसी ने नहीं सुनी थी; उसके सामने अन्य सब शब्द दब जाते थे।
