युधिछिर उवाच आनुशंस्यं परो धर्मस्त्रयी धर्म: सदाफल: । मनो यम्य न शोचन्ति संधि: सदभिर्न जीर्यते,युधिष्ठिर बोले--लोकमें दया श्रेष्ठ धर्म है, वेदोक्त धर्म नित्य फलवाला है, मनको वशभमें रखनेसे मनुष्य शोक नहीं करते और सत्पुरुषोंके साथ की हुई मित्रता नष्ट नहीं होती

Translation

युधिष्ठिर बोले—लोक में दया ही श्रेष्ठ धर्म है; वेदोक्त (त्रयी) धर्म सदा फल देनेवाला है; मन को वश में रखने से मनुष्य शोक नहीं करते; और सत्पुरुषों के साथ की हुई मित्रता नष्ट नहीं होती।
