Daśagrīva-boonāvaraṇa, Viṣṇv-avatāra-niyoga, Vānara-sahāya-janana, Mantharā-nirmāṇa
अनसूयाविहिंसा च शौचमिन्द्रियसंयम: । पावनानि महाराज नराणां पुण्यकर्मणाम्
an asūyā-ahiṃsā ca śaucam indriya-saṃyamaḥ | pāvanāni mahārāja narāṇāṃ puṇya-karmaṇām ||
वैशम्पायन बोले—महाराज! दूसरों के गुणों में दोष न ढूँढ़ना (अनसूया), अहिंसा, शौच (बाह्य-आन्तरिक पवित्रता) और इन्द्रिय-संयम—ये पुण्यकर्म में लगे पुरुषों के पावन गुण हैं।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches that certain inner disciplines—non-envy, non-violence, purity, and restraint of the senses—are themselves ‘purifiers’: they sanctify a person and make one fit for righteous living.
In Vaiśaṃpāyana’s narration to the king, a dharma-oriented instruction is being stated: he lists key virtues that characterize and purify those who perform meritorious actions.
