Kaurava Court Hears of the Pāṇḍavas’ Forest Hardship (वैचित्रवीर्यवंशीयस्य राज्ञः करुणाविचारः)
वसिष्ठ प्रमुखा मुख्या विप्रेन्द्रा:सुमहाबला: । यह सुनकर देवराज इन्द्र ब्रद्माजीको नमस्कार करके उस कन्याको साथ ले जहाँ महान् शक्तिशाली वसिष्ठ आदि श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण एवं देवर्षि थे, वहाँ उनके आश्रमपर आये
Vasiṣṭha-pramukhā mukhyā viprendrāḥ su-mahābalāḥ |
मार्कण्डेय बोले—“वसिष्ठ के नेतृत्व में महान् बलसम्पन्न प्रधान-प्रधान ब्रह्मर्षि वहाँ थे। यह सुनकर देवराज इन्द्र ने ब्रह्मा को प्रणाम किया और उस कन्या को साथ लेकर उस आश्रम की ओर चले, जहाँ वसिष्ठ आदि महाशक्तिशाली ऋषि तथा देवर्षि निवास करते थे।”
