Righteous assistance by virtuous people can avert moral and spiritual downfall; timely dharmic action functions as ‘deliverance,’ restoring one from a fallen state (symbolized by hell or loss of heaven) to a higher condition.
A Brahmin speaker praises the addressed hero as a ‘tiger among men,’ comparing the hero’s saving act to the famous episode where King Yayāti, fallen from heaven, was redeemed by his grandsons and reinstated in heaven; likewise, the speaker says he has been saved from falling into hell.
