कृतयुगवर्णनम् तथा राजधर्मोपदेशः
Kṛtayuga Description and Instruction on Royal Dharma
कर्णिकोद्धरणं दिव्यं ब्रह्यण: कामरूपिण: । रत्नालंकारयोगाशभ्यां दृग्भ्यां दुष्टस्त्वया पुरा,आप भगवान् नारायणके समीप रहनेवाले भक्तोंमें सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं। परलोकमें आपकी महिमाका सर्वत्र गान होता है। आपने पहले स्वेच्छासे प्रकट होनेवाले सर्वव्यापक ब्रह्मकी उपलब्धिके स्थानभूत हृदयकमलकी कर्णिकाका (योगकी कलासे) अलौकिक उद्घाटन कर वैराग्य और अभ्याससे प्राप्त हुई दिव्य दृष्टिद्वारा विश्वरचयिता भगवान्का अनेक बार साक्षात्कार किया है
vaiśampāyana uvāca | karṇikoddharaṇaṃ divyaṃ brahmaṇaḥ kāmarūpiṇaḥ | ratnālaṃkārayogābhyāṃ dṛgbhyāṃ dṛṣṭas tvayā purā ||
वैशम्पायन बोले— पूर्वकाल में आपने वैराग्य और अभ्यास से उत्पन्न दिव्य दृष्टि द्वारा हृदय-कमल की कर्णिका का वह अद्भुत, अलौकिक उद्घाटन देखा, जिससे स्वेच्छा से रूप धारण करने वाले सर्वव्यापक ब्रह्म का साक्षात्कार होता है—जो रत्नमय तेज से विभूषित जगत् का कारण है। इसी से आप नारायण के समीप रहने वाले भक्तों में श्रेष्ठ हैं और परलोकों में आपकी महिमा सर्वत्र गाई जाती है।
