तपोबलेन महता बाहुवेगबलेन च । नित्यमेव दुराधर्षो धर्षयन्‌ स दिते: सुत:,“अपने महान्‌ तपोबल तथा वेगयुक्त बाहुबलसे वह देवताओंके लिये सदा अजेय बना रहता था और स्वयं सब देवताओंको सताया करता था

tapobalena mahatā bāhuvegabalena ca | nityam eva durādharṣo dharṣayan sa diteḥ sutaḥ ||

महान् तपोबल और वेगयुक्त बाहुबल से युक्त दिति का वह पुत्र देवताओं के लिए सदा दुर्धर्ष बना रहता था; और अपने बल के मद से वह निरन्तर देवताओं को सताता-पीड़ित करता था।
