Arrogance, Boons, and Nimitta
यदास्य वदतो वाक्य न स चक्रे द्विजोत्तम: | वालुकाभिस्तत: शक्रो गड़ां समभिपूरयन्,द्विजश्रेष्ठ यवक्रीतने जब इन्द्रका कहना नहीं माना, तब वे बालूसे गंगाजीको भरने लगे
yadāsya vadato vākyaṁ na sa cakre dvijottamaḥ | vālukābhis tataḥ śakro gaḍāṁ samabhipūrayan ||
जब उस द्विजोत्तम ने कही हुई बात नहीं मानी, तब शक्र (इन्द्र) ने बालू से घड़ा भरना आरम्भ किया।
लोगश उवाच
The verse highlights how disregard for rightful counsel can invite obstacles; divine forces may test a person’s intent and character, urging humility, restraint, and alignment with dharma rather than stubborn self-will.
A brāhmaṇa refuses to act according to what is said to him; in response, Indra (Śakra) begins filling the vessel meant for water with sand, creating a deliberate impediment and signaling a test or rebuke.
