Udyoga Parva, Chapter 81: Krishna Sets Out as Envoy
stanau pīnāyataśroṇī sahitāv abhivarṣatī | dravībhūtam ivātyuṣṇaṃ muñcantī vāri netrajam ||
The verse highlights how adharma (injustice) wounds not only socially but inwardly: moral outrage and grief become a force demanding dharmic resolution. Draupadī’s ‘hot’ tears symbolize an inner fire—an ethical protest against humiliation and wrongdoing.
Vaiśampāyana describes Draupadī’s intense emotional state after speaking: she trembles and weeps, shedding very hot tears that fall upon her breasts. The imagery conveys her overwhelming sorrow and anger as the conflict moves toward decisive action.
