Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 73 — Kr̥ṣṇa’s Appraisal of Bhīma’s Altered Temper and Reaffirmation of Martial Resolve
शमश्न नन्दिवेगानामित्येते कुलपांसना: । युगान्ते कृष्ण सम्भूता: कुले कुपुरुषाधमा:
śamaśna nandivegānām ity ete kulapāṃsanāḥ | yugānte kṛṣṇa-sambhūtāḥ kule kupuruṣādhamāḥ ||
भीम ने कहा—नन्दिवेगवंश का शमश्न और उसके समान अन्य—ये सब अपने-अपने कुलों की राख और कलंक हैं। युगान्त में, जब धर्म का विप्लव उपस्थित होता है, तब जैसे तेजस्वी और समृद्ध असुरों में भयंकर कलह उठ खड़ा हुआ था, वैसे ही अन्धकार से उत्पन्न हुए-से ये नीच क्षत्रिय भिन्न-भिन्न राजवंशों में जन्म लेते हैं और विनाश तथा परस्पर वैर के कारण बनते हैं।
