हिया ज्ञानेन तपसा दमेन शौर्येणाथो धर्मगुप्त्या धनेन । अन्यायवृत्ति: कुरुपाण्डवेया- नध्यातिष्ठेद् धार्तराष्ट्रो दुरात्मा
hrīyā jñānena tapasā damena śauryeṇātho dharmaguptyā dhanena | anyāyavṛttiḥ kurupāṇḍaveyān adhyātiṣṭhed dhārtarāṣṭro durātmā ||
संजय बोले—अधर्माचरण करने वाला दुरात्मा धृतराष्ट्रपुत्र दुर्योधन कौरवों और पाण्डवों पर अधिकार अन्याय से नहीं, बल्कि लज्जा, सद्ज्ञान, तप, इन्द्रिय-संयम, शौर्य, धर्म-रक्षा और न्यायोचित धन के द्वारा प्राप्त करे। अन्याय से राज्य टिकता नहीं; सद्गुण ही हृदयों को जीतते हैं।
