Śikhaṇḍinī’s Marriage Arrangement and the Daśārṇa Envoy’s Accusation
etac chrutvā drupado yajñasenaḥ sarva-tattvaṁ mantraviddhyo nivedya | mantra-rājā mantrayāmāsa rājan yathā-yuktaṁ rakṣaṇe vai prajānām ||

A king’s dharma includes transparent reporting of facts to competent advisers and then taking prudent, situation-appropriate measures to protect the people; governance is shown as deliberative and responsibility-centered.
After receiving certain information, Drupada (Yajñasena) briefs his ministers fully and accurately, and then holds a secret council to decide the proper arrangements for the security and welfare of his subjects.
