Kaurava Mobilization at Kurukṣetra (Duryodhana Orders War Preparations) / कुरुक्षेत्रे धार्तराष्ट्र-सैन्यसज्जा
शकटापणवेशाश्व यानयुग्यं च सर्वश: । कोशं यन्त्रायुधं चैव ये च वैद्याश्विकित्सका:
śakaṭāpaṇa-veśāśva-yānayugyaṃ ca sarvaśaḥ | kośaṃ yantrāyudhaṃ caiva ye ca vaidyāśva-cikitsakāḥ ||
उनके साथ सब प्रकार की सेना-सामग्री भी चली—सामान ढोने वाली गाड़ियाँ, बाजार-रसद और डेरे-तंबू, जोतने योग्य घोड़े और सवारियाँ, खजाना, यन्त्रचालित अस्त्र, तथा घोड़ों की चिकित्सा में निपुण वैद्य भी।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that large-scale conflict depends on disciplined organization—supplies, treasury, technology, and medical care—implying ethical responsibility in governance and warfare: leaders must account for the welfare and support systems that sustain an army, not merely valor in battle.
Vaiśampāyana describes the entourage moving together with the main force: carts, market provisions, camp equipment, horses and harnessed vehicles, the treasury, mechanical weapons, and specialists such as horse-doctors, indicating a fully provisioned march or mobilization.
