Even in a setting moving toward war, dharma is pursued through counsel and diplomacy: Kṛṣṇa’s mission represents ethical persuasion and the attempt to prevent destruction, while Karṇa’s declared stance highlights the moral tension between loyalty, gratitude, and righteousness.
This is a concluding colophon: Sañjaya signals the end of the chapter situated in the Bhagavad-yāna (Kṛṣṇa’s journey) portion of Udyoga Parva, specifically the episode where Karṇa presents his position in the Kṛṣṇa–Karṇa dialogue.
