निदर्शनान्युपायांश्व बहुन्युद्धर्षणानि च । अनुदर्शितरूपोडसि पश्यामि कुरु पौरुषम्
nidārśanāny upāyāṁś ca bahūny uddharṣaṇāni ca | anudarśita-rūpo ’si paśyāmi kuru pauruṣam ||
बेटा! मैंने तुझे अनेक प्रकार के दृष्टान्त, बहुत-से उपाय और कितने ही उत्साह जगाने वाले वचन सुनाए हैं। लोक-व्यवहार का भी बार-बार दिग्दर्शन कराया है। अब तू पुरुषार्थ कर—मैं तेरा पराक्रम देखूँगी।
पुत्र उवाच
Instruction must culminate in action: after receiving examples, strategies, and repeated guidance about worldly realities, one should undertake courageous, responsible effort (pauruṣa) rather than remain passive.
A parent/elder (the speaker) addresses her son, reminding him that she has already offered many illustrations, practical counsels, and motivating words; now she urges him to act with valor so she may witness his prowess.
