अलातं तिन्दुकस्येव मुहूर्तमपि विज्वल । मा तुषाग्निरिवानर्चिर्धूमायस्व जिजीविषु:

Transliteration

alātaṁ tindukasyeva muhūrtam api vijvala | mā tuṣāgnir ivānarcir dhūmāy asva jijīviṣuḥ ||

Translation

तिन्दुक की जलती लकड़ी के अंगारे की तरह, चाहे क्षणभर ही सही, प्रज्वलित हो उठ—शत्रु के सामने निर्णायक पराक्रम दिखा। पर जीवन-लालसा में भूसी की ज्वालारहित आग की तरह केवल धुआँ मत कर; मंद और निष्फल प्रयास मत कर।
