वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical and practical power of righteous alliance: when guided and supported by Kṛṣṇa—depicted as tireless and effective—one can achieve legitimate aims while maintaining honor in the wider political order. It implies that success should be pursued through worthy counsel and dharmic support, not merely through force.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war diplomacy, the narrator Vaiśampāyana reports confidence that, with Kṛṣṇa’s assistance as an ally and strategist, the party speaking expects to secure its objectives and gain recognition/respect among the assembled kings.
