एष मे निश्चय: साधो कृतं कारणमुनत्तमम् । आमन्त्रयामि भद्र ते कृतार्थोडस्मि भुजजड्रम
eṣa me niścayaḥ sādho kṛtaṃ kāraṇam uttamam | āmantrayāmi bhadra te kṛtārtho ’smi bhujaṅgama mahātman ||
ब्राह्मण ने कहा—हे साधु! यही मेरा निश्चय है। आपने मेरा प्रयोजन अत्यन्त उत्तम रीति से सिद्ध कर दिया। आपका कल्याण हो। हे भुजंगम, महात्मन्! मैं कृतार्थ हो गया हूँ; अब जाने के लिए आपकी आज्ञा चाहता हूँ।
ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse highlights ethical speech and conduct: once one’s purpose is fulfilled, one should express gratitude, offer auspicious wishes, and seek leave respectfully—showing humility and propriety even toward a non-human being.
A brāhmaṇa addresses a serpent who has helped accomplish his objective. Declaring his resolve satisfied and his task completed, he blesses the serpent and formally asks permission to depart.
