तपसा च सुतप्तेन यमेन नियमेन च । मन्वन्तरेषु पुत्रत्वमेवमेव प्रवर्तक:
tapasā ca sutaptena yamena niyamena ca | manvantareṣu putratvam evam eva pravartakaḥ ||
वैशम्पायन बोले— उत्तम प्रकार से किए हुए तप, तथा यम और नियम के अनुशासन से मन्वन्तर-मन्वन्तर में बार-बार पुत्रत्व की प्राप्ति होती है; यही कारण-धर्म उसी प्रकार निरन्तर चलता रहता है।
