समाप्तयज्ञो राजापि प्रजां पालितवान् वसु: । ब्रह्मशापाद दिवो भ्रष्ट: प्रविवेश महीं तत:
samāptayajño rājāpi prajāṃ pālitavān vasuḥ | brahmaśāpād divo bhraṣṭaḥ praviveśa mahīṃ tataḥ |
यज्ञ समाप्त करके राजा वसु प्रजा का पालन करने लगे। पर ब्राह्मण-शाप के कारण वे स्वर्ग से गिर पड़े; और तब पृथ्वी में प्रविष्ट होकर रसातल में समा गए।
