The Nārāyaṇa Grounding of Ancestral Offerings
taṁ dṛṣṭvā vismitāḥ sarve gandharvāpsarasāṁ gaṇāḥ | ṛṣayaś caiva saṁsiddhāḥ paraṁ vismayam āgatāḥ ||
The verse highlights the moral-spiritual principle that genuine realization and perfected conduct (saṁsiddhi) naturally evoke reverence and awe even among exalted beings; true greatness is recognized by its intrinsic radiance rather than by power or status.
Śuka describes a moment when a particular exalted person is seen, and the assembled celestial hosts—Gandharvas and Apsarases—along with perfected sages, are overwhelmed with extraordinary wonder at his presence and attainment.
