Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)
सात्व॑ं जातिं श्रुतं वृत्तं भाव॑ प्रकृतिमात्मन: । कृत्यमागमने चैव वक्तुमरहसि तत्त्वतः
sāttvaṁ jātiṁ śrutaṁ vṛttaṁ bhāvaṁ prakṛtim ātmanaḥ | kṛtyam āgamane caiva vaktum arhasi tattvataḥ ||
जनक बोले—तुम्हें अपने सत्त्व, कुल/जाति, शास्त्र-श्रवण (श्रुत), आचरण, अभिप्राय, स्वभाव तथा यहाँ आने का प्रयोजन—इन सबको यथार्थ रूप से कहना चाहिए। इसलिए, हे संन्यासिनी, इन बातों को जैसा है वैसा बताना उचित है।
