स्यूमराश्मिरुवाच स्यूमरश्मिरहं ब्रह्म॒न्‌ जिज्ञासार्थमिहागत: । श्रेयस्काम: प्रत्यवोचमार्जवान्न विवक्षया

Transliteration

Sūmarāśmir uvāca—Sūmarāśmir ahaṁ brahman jijñāsārtham ihāgataḥ | Śreyaskāmaḥ pratyavocam ārjavān na vivakṣayā ||

Translation

स्यूमरश्मि ने कहा—ब्रह्मन्! मेरा नाम स्यूमरश्मि है। मैं ज्ञान-प्राप्ति की इच्छा से यहाँ आया हूँ। कल्याण की कामना से मैंने सरल भाव से अपनी बात कही है, वाद-विवाद की इच्छा से नहीं।
