The Dialogue of Indra and Bali on Fortune, Humility, and Restraint
कार्य व्यासक्तमनस: संकल्पो जाग्रतो हापि । यद्वन्मनोरथैश्वर्य स्वप्ने तद्धन्मनोगतम्
kāryavyāsaktamanasaḥ saṅkalpo jāgrato hāpi | yadvan manorathaiśvaryaṃ svapne tadvad manogataṃ ||
भीष्म ने कहा— जाग्रत अवस्था में भी, जो मनुष्य अनेक कार्यों में आसक्त-चित्त रहता है, उसके संकल्प केवल उसके ‘मनोराज्य’ की ही विभूति हैं। उसी प्रकार स्वप्न में जो भाव और दृश्य प्रकट होते हैं, वे भी मन से ही उत्पन्न होकर मन से ही सम्बन्ध रखते हैं।
