Bhishma emphasizes that disciplined japa yields a definite spiritual ‘fruit’ and ‘gati’ (destiny), and he presents his teaching as faithful to received tradition (yathāśrutam), highlighting humility and accuracy in dharma-instruction.
After explaining the benefits and spiritual destination of japa-practitioners, Bhishma concludes his account and invites Yudhiṣṭhira to ask what further instruction he wants, marking a transition point in the ongoing dharma discourse of the Śānti Parva.
