दूषितं परदोषै्हिं गृह्नीते योडन्यथा शुचिम् । स्वयं संदूषितामात्य: क्षिप्रमेव विनश्यति
dūṣitaṃ paradoṣaiḥ gṛhṇīte yo 'nyathā śucim | svayaṃ saṃdūṣitāmātyaḥ kṣipram eva vinaśyati ||
भीष्म बोले—जो राजा दूसरों के लगाए हुए मिथ्या दोषों में आकर वास्तव में निर्दोष और शुद्ध मनुष्य को भी दण्ड देता है, वह दूषित मन्त्रियों वाला नरेश शीघ्र ही नष्ट हो जाता है; क्योंकि अन्यायपूर्ण निर्णय से राजधर्म की जड़ कट जाती है।
