शूरलक्षणवर्णनम् | Marks and Typologies of Martial Temperament
जिद्याक्षा: प्रललाटाश्व निर्मासहनवो5डपि च । वज़बाह्वंगुलीचक्रा: कृशा धमनिसंतता:
jidyākṣāḥ pralalāṭāśva-nirmāsa-hanavo 'lpāpi ca | vajra-bāhv-aṅgulī-cakrāḥ kṛśā dhamani-saṃtatāḥ ||
भीष्म बोले— जिनकी आँखें तिरछी हों, ललाट ऊँचा हो और ठोड़ी कृश तथा लगभग मांसहीन हो; जिनकी भुजाओं पर वज्र का और अंगुलियों पर चक्र का चिह्न हो; और जिनका शरीर इतना दुबला हो कि नसों का जाल स्पष्ट दिखे— ऐसे पुरुष युद्ध उपस्थित होते ही महावेग से शत्रु-सेना में घुस पड़ते हैं और मतवाले हाथियों के समान शत्रुओं के लिए दुर्जय हो जाते हैं।
