पपात चोल्का महती पतिते पृथिवीपतौ । पृथ्वीपति दुर्योधनके गिर जानेपर आकाशसे पुनः महान् शब्द और बिजलीकी कड़कके साथ प्रज्वलित, भयंकर एवं विशाल उल्का भूमिपर गिरी || ५० $ ।।

पृथ्वीपति के गिरते ही आकाश से बिजली की कड़क के साथ प्रज्वलित, भयंकर और विशाल उल्का धरती पर आ गिरी—यह अशुभ दैवी संकेत था, जो बल के सहारे टिके राजधर्म और व्यवस्था के ढहने का सूचक बना। इससे प्रकट हुआ कि अधर्म-प्रेरित सत्ता का अंत विनाश में ही होता है, और प्रकृति भी मानो उस अन्यायपूर्ण युद्ध के परिणाम की साक्षी बन उठी।
