Educational Q&A

The verse highlights inner steadiness (dhairya) and self-mastery: even amid extreme suffering, a person firmly resolved in dharma does not succumb to despair, and their outward composure reflects inward discipline.

The narrator describes a woman undergoing burning in fire, yet showing no mental sorrow and no change in facial radiance—an image of extraordinary calm, compared to someone standing in water while flames blaze.
