तथाभूतावदृश्येतां वचनात् सत्यवादिन: । प्रजानाथ! उनके इतना कहते ही वे दोनों भाई उस सत्यवादीके वचनसे उसी क्षण भेड़ियेकी शकलमें दिखायी देने लगे
tathābhūtāv adṛśyetāṃ vacanāt satyavādinaḥ | prajānātha!
वैशम्पायन बोले—प्रजानाथ! उनके इतना कहते ही, उस सत्यवादी के वचन-प्रभाव से वे दोनों भाई उसी क्षण भेड़ियों के रूप में दिखाई देने लगे।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical potency of satya (truth): a truth-speaker’s words are not merely descriptive but efficacious, capable of bringing about immediate consequences. It reflects the Mahābhārata’s recurring idea that moral force (especially truthfulness) can operate like a spiritual power.
As soon as the truth-speaking person utters his words, the two brothers are instantly perceived in a changed state—appearing with the form of wolves—marking a sudden, consequential transformation triggered by speech.
