वर्तमाने महायज्ञे त्रितस्य सुमहात्मन:
vartamāne mahāyajñe tritasya sumahātmanaḥ
सुमहात्मा त्रित का महान् यज्ञ चल रहा था। उसी पवित्र यज्ञ-मण्डप में, जहाँ विधि और धर्म की मर्यादा आगे की कथा को आकार देती है, वहीं से आगे की घटनाएँ प्रकट होने लगती हैं।
