Adhyāya 33: Rauhiṇeya (Balarāma) is welcomed and takes his seat to witness the gadā-engagement
vijayo vai dhruvaḥ kṛṣṇa dharmarājasya dṛśyate | śrīkṛṣṇa, asmin tanik api saṁśayo nāsti yat ahaṁ yuddhe suyodhanaṁ mārayiṣyāmi | mama tu dharmarājasya niścayenaiva vijayo dṛśyate |
The verse highlights steadfast resolve aligned with dharma: Bhīma’s confidence is not mere bravado but a moral certainty that righteous leadership (Dharmarāja) will prevail, and that decisive action against adharma (Suyodhana) is required in a just war.
In the Shalya Parva war context, Bhīma addresses Kṛṣṇa, declaring unwavering confidence in Yudhiṣṭhira’s victory and affirming his own determination to kill Suyodhana (Duryodhana) in battle.
