शल्यस्य पाण्डवसेनापीडनम् — Śalya’s Assault on the Pāṇḍava Host
with Omens and Bhīma’s Counter
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत शल्यपर्वमें संकुलयुद्धविषयक नवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
samārcchac citrasenaṃ tu nakulo yuddha-durmadaḥ | tau parasparam āsādya citra-kārmuka-dhāriṇau ||
संजय बोले—उसी समय रण-उन्मत्त नकुल ने कर्णपुत्र चित्रसेन पर धावा बोला। दोनों विचित्र धनुष धारण करने वाले वीर आमने-सामने भिड़े और दक्षिण तथा उत्तर दिशा से आए हुए दो महान जलवर्षक मेघों के समान एक-दूसरे पर बाणों की वर्षा करने लगे।
