Aśvatthāmā’s Buddhi-Doctrine and Nocturnal Incursion Resolve (अश्वत्थाम्नः बुद्धिविचारः सौप्तिकसंकल्पश्च)
“उस विकारके कारण एक ही पुरुषमें उसी समय भिन्न-भिन्न प्रकारकी बुद्धि (विचारधारा) उत्पन्न हो जाती है; परंतु अवसरके अनुरूप न होनेपर उसकी अपनी ही बुद्धि उसीके लिये अरुचिकर हो जाती है ।।
niścitya tu yathāprajñaṃ yāṃ matiṃ sādhu paśyati | tayā prakurute bhāvaṃ sā tasyodyogakārikā ||
विचार करके मनुष्य अपनी प्रज्ञा के अनुसार जिस मत को अच्छा समझकर निश्चय करता है, उसी के द्वारा वह कार्य-सिद्धि की चेष्टा करता है; वही बुद्धि उसके उद्योग को सफल बनाने वाली होती है।
