अध्याय १ — न्यग्रोधवनोपवेशनम् तथा द्रौणिनिश्चयः
Night at the Banyan and Drauṇi’s Resolve
न लेभे स तु निद्रां वै दहमानो हि मन्युना । वीक्षाज्चक्रे महाबाहुस्तद् वनं घोरदर्शनम्
na lebhe sa tu nidrāṃ vai dahamāno hi manyunā | vīkṣāṃ cakre mahābāhus tad vanaṃ ghoradarśanam ||
संजय बोले—क्रोध की ज्वाला में जलते हुए उसे नींद न मिली। वह महाबाहु वीर उस भयंकर दिखायी देने वाले वन की ओर बार-बार दृष्टि डालता रहा।
